Will Boulden has been a competitive sailor for about 14 years now. He first started sailing in Perth, Australia, where he became encapsulated with the exciting nature of the sport and the competitive racing.
Boulden spent most of his youth sailing in the International 420, competing highly at a national level, placing second twice at the Australian youth nationals, before traveling to Spain for the 2013 420 world championships, his first sailing event overseas.
Moving into the Olympic 49er class in 2014, he completed a very modest Olympic campaign alongside his match racing efforts. Whilst at school Boulden was involved with Teams Racing, having won the Australian college national’s four times. However, it didn’t take long for the Match Racing ‘bug’ to takeover and Boulden decided to prioritize his Match Racing goals and in 2016 made this, his major sailing focus.
Boulden is now also enjoying his moth sailing and hopes to be very competitive at the Moth worlds in his hometown, Perth, in December 2019.
